Regarding your Mail and Calendar sync concern, it seems that you already tried the most common fixes that are supposed to resolve it already. To add on those, we would suggest that you check for another update for the Mail and same with the Calendar app in the Microsoft Store. If this will not work, please check the settings of your trusted third party antivirus only if you do have one.

It is likely that the app was communicating with my account, but that my computer was taking a looong time to set up and to download I have a slower internet, and a weaker processor.
