Lack of direction, blame culture and a toxic environment has led to division and extreme lack of professionalism. The business is unhealthy and past mistakes have cost the company market share, credibility in front of customers and employee dissatisfaction. I manage a query resolution team of 10, where we have to investigate and problem solve customer queries in order for those invoices to be paid. This work is very challenging as the team are required to be very flexible and adaptable to constant changes in the way we work.
The money is terrible for amount of work demanded. The office is a great place, but management do not support the possibilty of progression within the company. Pros Completion of days duties. Cons None. Help us improve! Cromwell has some great ideas and ways of working, but the management and way in which the business is run is very poor and needs attention, They pay and benefits are extremely poor for what the roles actually require you to do, the job has potential to be rewarding in all aspects if they focus on improving the correct areas, Staff do not seem to be important and they view only themselves.

Pros Not hard work. Cons Management, short lunch break, minimum pay, hard to progress. If your working within the IT department, you will enjoy working at Cromwell tools. I worked on the replenishment side of the business as well which involved stock take ordering stock sending emails clearing stock and putting stock away. I got on with all management from my senior to team leader team manager upwards. My co workers were a good bunch of people i am a very easy person to get on with. My hardest part of the day was in the morning as i picked orders by priority so orders are bigger a lot of heavy lifting.
The most enjoyable part of the day was when i completed all my work. Pros good working atmosphere. Cons I do not mind long hours the more the better but pay could of been better. Very good and happy place to work, leading to development into buying and procurement.

Worked there 8 weeks then told new American owners were closing most of the stores throughout UK. Was going to be a shiny new E-commerce place. I was offered alternate employment 42 miles away. No thanks. Company has lost a lot of its business since then. Pros Pay was right. Cons Most everything else except for some colleagues.
No praise for going above and beyond your role but the moment you make a slight mistake the "management" will pull you in for meetings about your performance and make you feel like Judas Iscariot!! Vile people Pros Nothing. Cons Everything. Cons High touch thinking with low tack approach. Reasonable place. Top bosses are way out of touch and expect far too much. The meetings for Health and Safety were not productive. Immediate bosses knew the work. Were hands on if needed.
They were approachable. Only one. Pros Reasonably clean. Cons Freezing in winter. No heat extraction in summer. Only one 30 minute break. Having left the business a number of years ago I still have residual feelings about the way I was treated. Upon starting with the business I learned they had bullied out two other members of staff but perhaps to my own detriment I persevered. After exhausting all channels I had to leave as they had management wrapped around their little fingers.
The company is lagging behind like most managers who work there, a labor camp without employee support Not a nice place to work.
Busy environment teamwork is always a way foward, learn to be multi tasks good company to workfor, management always helpful withhharmonious harmonious. Good company gone to the dogs!! This was once a good company to work for, when even senior management knew your name and a little about you. However, this all seemed to change around the turn of the millennium. Then it was all about profits profits profits and little about the customer.
Then the Americans took the company over and really destroyed a national company ad they had no idea how the UK worked. Yes There are 1 helpful reviews 1 No. No job security at all.
